Trump: Russia ‘should have gone down a little easier’

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the United States is “not looking for a war” with Russia over its hacking of the Democratic National Committee.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said he thought the hacking was “very unfair” to the Democratic Party and said he thinks Russia is “a little better” at cyberattacks than the U.S. “But I’m not looking for war with Russia, OK?”

Trump also said that Russia “should have probably gone down, maybe, a little harder, a lot harder” in the cyberattack.

The president made the comments during an interview on Fox News’ “Special Report.”

The president, who spoke at length in his Fox News interview with host Martha MacCallum, was referring to a report from The Washington Post that said Russian intelligence operatives tried to influence the U,S.

election.

The report also said Russia was behind the leak of emails stolen from the Democratic party.

Trump also called Russia “very bad” during his press conference Wednesday.

“They’re not a very good guy,” Trump said.

“Because they were not, they were just, they wanted to play and they wanted the money, they just wanted to do it.””

I think the Russians were a little better than the United Kingdom,” Trump continued.

“Because they were not, they were just, they wanted to play and they wanted the money, they just wanted to do it.”
